How do I apply to be a boise bee?
First apply on the website, then create an account and fill out our questionnaire! Once we go over your answers, we will contact you for a one on one interview at our location in Meridian.
What do I wear to the jobs?
You will wear your t-shirt given to you. T-shirts should be worn to every job.
How do I get paid?
Funds will be sent through Stripe.
How should I introduce myself to the family once I accept a job?
Make sure to include your name, where you attend school or graduated from, what your studying, your experience with children and how much your looking forward to meeting them!
What if the parents show up late?
If the parents are not responding to your calls or texts, then get ahold of us immediately and we will take over the job so that you can leave.
Will I receive any tax documents at the end of the year?
Any independent contractor that earned more than $600 in a calendar year, will be sent a 1099-MISC to file taxes. Boise Bees is legally unable to give tax advice. As independent contractors, you are responsible for filing your taxes.
When do I check in and out?
Check in hours as well as check out hours need to be confirmed by both parents and babysitters. Keep track of your arrival and be on time. If parents arrive later you will be compensated.
Are there overnight jobs?
Yes. Overnight jobs are an option but the parents will make it known if an overnight stay is required. The same rate will be charged per hour.

Do I get paid for driving?
No. You will start your job as soon as you arrive at their home. make sure to arrive on time. You are in charge of yours hours.
How do we contact the parents?
We will get you in contact with the parents once you accept a job.
What is the process of joining as a babysitter?
Once you fill out the questionnaire on our website we will review your information. If we feel like you may be a good fit we will send an email to set up a one-on-one interview. Once approved, you will come in for a group meeting to learn how to use the app and start accepting jobs.
Commonly Asked Questions: Parents
Tipping is not implemented online unless previously noted in the booking. If you choose to tip this will be done at the job between the sitter and parent.
Yes! If you loved the person you got then you will have an option to request them again when you leave a review. Keep in mind that your sitter may not be available and you may receive a different sitter in their place.
What if I have dogs and cats in the house?
Most babysitters love your furry friends, but make it known in your notes section when you post your job that you have them! Allergies could be an issue.
Anywhere from 15 years old and up. The majority of our hive is college-aged students. Boise Bees is the perfect job for those with busy schedules such as student in high school and college.
Yes, after each job there will be an option for both babysitters and parents to leave a review. These reviews are confidential and will be thoroughly evaluated by our staff. If there are any questionable reviews, we will contact both parents and babysitter by phone. Those not making Boise Bees an enjoyable experience will be removed from the network immediately.
Is there a membership fee?
No, there is only a booking fee of $5 for each and every booking.
